Privacy Policy
How Pawbop handles your pet photos, videos, purchases and optional analytics.
Your pet photos and lines
To make a video, Pawbop sends the pet photo you choose, as a smaller copy, and for a talking video the line you pick or type, to fal.ai through aqualley’s AI gateway, which runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. fal.ai runs the video and voice models made by ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba, ElevenLabs and Google. The photo is used only to check that it shows a pet and to make the video you asked for, and aqualley’s gateway does not store it. Pawbop asks for your agreement before your first photo is sent; without it nothing is uploaded, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings › AI photo processing. Photos where a person’s face shows are refused. fal.ai handles the photo, the line and the generated video under its own privacy policy.
Your videos
Finished videos are downloaded to your iPhone and kept in Pawbop’s library until you delete them. Pawbop shows the iOS photo picker and reads only the photo you pick; it asks for permission to add videos to Photos when you save one. When you save or share a video, the destination you choose, such as Photos or another app, handles it under its own privacy practices. If you use iCloud or another backup service, your Pawbop library may be included according to that service’s settings.
Your video balance
To keep weekly videos, pack videos, free redos and the one free preview per device fair, aqualley’s gateway records each video you start: a job identifier, the template, which of your videos it used and whether it succeeded. These records are linked to your anonymous app user ID and to the identifiers of your App Store purchases, which the gateway reads from RevenueCat, so that reinstalling the app does not change your balance. Video records are kept for up to 60 days; the count of videos used from each purchase is kept while that purchase can be used. The app proves to our server that it is the genuine Pawbop app with Apple’s App Attest, and Apple’s DeviceCheck lets us remember whether this iPhone has used its free preview; Apple stores that for us and does not give us a device identifier. None of this is used for advertising.
Subscriptions and purchases
Apple processes payments for Pawbop Pro and video packs. Pawbop uses RevenueCat to verify subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase and subscription status, and device and diagnostic information needed to provide that service. Pawbop Settings shows this identifier as your User ID so you can choose to share it with support. Offer codes are entered in Apple’s redemption sheet; Pawbop does not read or send the code. aqualley does not receive your payment-card details.
Optional usage analytics
When usage analytics is on in Pawbop Settings, the app sends limited events to PostHog Cloud in the United States. Events include a random Pawbop-specific identifier, a session identifier, the app version and build, whether the device is one of our own test devices, and actions such as opening the app for the first time, choosing a pet type, a template or a photo, your choice on the AI photo agreement, starting, finishing, saving, sharing, deleting or reporting a video and whether it failed, viewing plans or packs, and the outcome of a purchase, restore or redeem attempt. They never contain your photos, videos, lines, payment details or contact details. PostHog derives your approximate country from the IP address of each request and stores that IP address alongside the event; Pawbop does not read device location, and we use country only for aggregate reporting. Advertising tracking and session replay are disabled.
Usage analytics is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings at any time. This stops further collection, discards unsent events and resets the local analytics identifier; it does not remove events PostHog has already received. See PostHog’s privacy policy for that service.
Support emails
“Report a bug” opens an email to info@aqualley.net filled in with your User ID, app version and build, device model, iOS version, locale and App Store country. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
Children
Pawbop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
